The first BYU football game kicked off late last night but didn't get over until this morning. Congrats to the boys in blue for their first win of the season. BYU 30- WSU 6

August 30

Jannette is working over nights this week. Tonight one of the bests things was a slice of her pumpkin chocolate chip bread. It was great at 2:30a!

August 29

This morning on the way home from work Jannette stopped by the local Great Harvest. They only make pumpkin chocolate chip bread on certain days and today was the day! Jannette was very happy!

Jennifer in her quest to make some food decided that smoking up the kitchen was a good idea too. With the smoke this is what the kitchen looked like.

Jennifer made some yummy food today. Artichoke stuffed chicken. It may be incorporated into our culinary mix.

Jannette had a total girl moment and decided she needed chocolate chip cookie dough. However, she didn't want a lot so she found a recipe, thanks to pinterest, that involved no eggs and made just a little.

Jennifer was super excited when Target had the Mios on sale. So needless to say the girls picked up a few...

August 24

Tonight Jennifer and Jannette decided that eating out seemed to be the better option. They headed out to Sweet Tomatoes. Jennifer also tried a beet for the first time. Not sure if that a good thing or not based on this picture.

August 23

Today Jennifer and Jannette got a package in the mail. Inside were a bunch of navy blue t-shirts. Some were BYU football game day shirts and others were BYU Alum shirts.
Rawrrr!!!

August 22

Tonight Jennifer and Jannette worked together. They like to wear the same shirts when they do get the chance to work together. This is them before they headed off for work!!

August 21

While Jannette was sleeping for her night shift, Jennifer made her a treat to take to work. She made kitten chow, a better-for-you version of puppy chow.

August 20

Another puzzle is under way in the apartment. This puzzle is getting put together for Jorden for a Christmas present. Jennifer and Jannette instantly thought of him when they saw it. Hopefully he'll like it.

August 19

Tonight while Jannette was attempting to stay up for her first set of night shifts she put together a card box. It's just a box to put all kinds of greeting cards in so if an occasion comes up there is a card that can be found.

August 18

Tonight another dish was made that was gluten free. This time it was a pumpkin cheesecake!! Pumpkin- good! Cheesecake- good! Pumpkin Cheesecake- good!!!!

August 17

It may still be preseason but football is back!!! Fall is coming and football games are back on the tv, life is good again in the girl's apartment.

August 16

Jennifer made a personal pan pizza today. It had a gluten free pizza crust. It turned out to be pretty tasty!

August 15

Today, Jennifer and Jannette were both off and went to see a double feature - but ended up only seeing 1 movie because of timing of the movie in Raleigh. Jennifer had really been wanting to see the newest Bourne movie: The Bourne Legacy starring a favorite actor of hers, Jeremy Renner!! It was pretty good and definitely left leeway for another movie! Jeremy Renner part 2?!?! :)

August 13

Jannette is the subject of today's picture! She has made it through 5 nursing shifts - 3 of which have been in a row during the day. I doubt there is any wonder in her mind now why Jennifer comes home exhuasted after working 12 hour day shifts. The girls finally got home at 11:10pm and Jannette was in bed to read ~ 11:30pm. By 11:43pm when Jennifer went in to tell her something, this is what she found.

Jannette was completely passed out asleep with her glasses still on! Haha - I think she gets it now!!

August 12

Jennifer and Jannette bought a watermelon a while back and it has been sitting on the counter during the parental visit taunting Jennifer. Today, when she was trying to get the apartment cleaned up a bit, Jennifer cut into it for work this week. The watermelon flesh was YELLOW!!!!! So, so weird!!! Jennifer tried it, Jannette really couldn't bring herself to eat it. It may get thrown away :(

August 11

Tonight marked the end of the first week of Jannette's orientation. Jennifer and Jannette also worked a shift together for the first time. And survived! Well, at least Jennifer did -Jannette got a headache. So as a pre-emptive strike Jannette has decided that she needs to include an occasional caffeine bevie (and animal crackers) to buffer the headache of working with Jennifer.

August 10

Earlier today, Jennifer received a text from Megan. The general gist of the text was that E really wanted to play with (read: PULL ON) fan cords and do somersaults... all thanks to Aunt Jenn who taught him such things! Jennifer is known for teaching small children bad habits at work - such as blowing raspberries - but now she's rubbing off on E. Woops!

August 9

Today Jannette went down to the Charlotte area with Xen and a couple of his friends. They went to Carowinds which is a theme park/ water park. Jannette's favorite ride was the Intimidator.

August 8

Over the last few days while Mom and Dad were visiting, the weather has been less than lovely. Today's storms loomed south of the apartment complex and threatened rain most of the day. Yuck!

August 7

Jannette mentioned the other day that Cinnamon Raisin bread would be great - and hinted that I should make it. So I took her up on the request... and tweaked my yummy Pastor Ryan Dutch Oven Herb Bread and made it with lots of cinnamon and raisins.

Tomorrow marks Jannette's first floor shift on 7 Children's!! And this is what she is taking to keep her powered through her shift. Ceil scrubs meet Jannette! Woohoo!!!

August 4

Today Jennifer, Jannette and Mom went out to Kernersville to see Megan. They ended up going shopping to make use of the tax-free weekend. It was a pretty successful trip- they ended up wearing out the 1 year old.

Dinner at a great restaurant with the parentals is always fun!!!

Today was Jannette's last day of nursing orientation. Next week she begins her journey as a nurse on the floor. Congratulations Jannette for making it!!

Jannette's student loans kicked in today. Welcome Wells Fargo to being a part of her life forever!!
