You can take the girls out of Florida but you can't take the Florida out of the girls. Jannette decided to go with a black, white and red theme to her new bathroom and then to go one step further, it turned into a Disney theme.

January 27

While we still don't have a service provider for cable yet- t.v. is being viewed in our clubhouse. Luckily, no one was up there for the Chuck series finale. Jannette was introduced to this show by the McClellan sisters- it had turned out to one of our favorites! So long Chuck Bartowski.

Jannette will be taking the NCLEX-RN board exam tomorrow. This is all the resources she has pulled together to help her study for the past several weeks. Good luck!!!

January 25

Doing Weight Watchers has allowed us to try lots of new recipes. This ended up being a very good breakfast. It's a gingerbread baked pancake with yogurt and fruit.

January 24

For the past several days while both Jennifer and Jannette have been pretty sick they have been able to watch several seasons of TV shows on dvd. Friends is always the go-to show because a person can never see that show too many times. Then they decided to change it up and watched The Big Bang Theory. Today, it's back to Friends.

January 23

Today was our official start of Weight Watchers since the past few weeks have been nothing short of busy, exhausting, and crazy! We went out to several grocery stores to stock up our fridge with yummy food including veggies and fruit. Here's to hoping that this works.

January 22

Today the contract in our old place officially ended. At this apartment we had valet trash service almost every night. Occasionally, we would take our own trash up to the dumpster at the front of the complex. We would do this, usually, by Jannette holding her arm and hand out of the passenger window of the unlucky car and holding the bag of garbage. During one of our final runs of taking stuff to the new apartment in Cary we decided that we would take trash up to the dumpster. Luckily, there was an old suitcase that Jennifer wanted to throw away. It turned into a very good "sidecar" for the trash delivery. Following behind, Jannette was in stitches the whole time. Luckily there wasn't an accident involving the two cars as Jannette couldn't see through the tears rolling down her cheeks.

January 21

Last night was the first night in the new place since the movers moved all the furniture. Jennifer has been very under the weather and unfortunately was up as the sun was coming up for some reason so she decided to take a picture of her room/window since it was a neat effect.

January 20

Today the movers came to move all of our big furniture. Thankfully. We can do little boxes, but there is absolutely no way that either Jennifer or Jannette could have moved our washer, dryer, couch and other various things.

January 19

Jennifer has had the privilege of working 6 shifts out of the last 7 nights while trying to pack the apartment up to move to Cary. Needless to say, she desperately needs a nap. But updating the blog is more entertaining at the moment.

January 18

While packing up the apartment Jannette has found time each day to studying for her upcoming exam. Here is a look at the books she is using to prepare herself for the said exam. Happy studying.

January 17

Don't let all our fun these past few days fool you. We are still in the process of moving our things over to the Cary apartment. We are trying to fill our 2 cars up full for each load over. Even if it means taking a load over at 4 am.

January 16

It's not often that we allow Dad to go to Wal-Mart with us. However, we made an exception this time. But it wasn't Dad that got into mischief ... it was Jannette and Mom. Apparently they shouldn't be left alone. Poor Mario!

January 15

It's finally gotten a little chilly in North Carolina. Over night the low's have plummeted down into the 20's. Mom and Dad's rental has ice crystals covering it this morning.

January 14

While Jorden was in town for graduation last month he made a "friend". While Jennifer, dad and mom were on their way to breakfast Jennifer got a picture of Jorden's "friend".

January 13

Pinterest is a wonderful site. It's also a time suck. However, occasionally there are some good tips and tricks to be found. Jennifer found out that you can essentially steam a drip pan in a 1/4 cup of ammonia in a plastic zip-lock bag and have it loosen and remove burnt on gunk. Yay for pinterest helping us clean as we move.

January 12

The Durham apartment exodus continues. We've finally gotten enough out to start cleaning drawers and cabinets. Fun fun.

January 11

Our new home!! Today we signed the lease on our apartment in Cary. We're finally getting out of Durham! Let the packing commence.

January 10

After midnight we were still driving to North Carolina. We had a nice view of the moon several times along the way. One of the nice things about the drive from Florida to North Carolina is the country-ness of I-95 where you can look up at the sky and see all the stars and at times, shooting stars.

January 9

The rental car the we had over the holiday trip to FL had satellite radio. We switched back in forth from the country stations to the 90's channel. This is one of Jennifer's new favorite songs.

January 8

WINGS!!!!!!!! Specifically: Frankie's Wings. A staple FL food when we go home. We <3 them.

January 7

Another grandparent visit!! Luckily, this time it was a little closer to home. We had lunch with Pop. We took him to Cracker Barrel knowing that he would love the food that he could order there. He chose pork chops, fried apples, and pinto beans. We had a great lunch and enjoyed spending time with him that was just us.

January 6

After going to Disney World for Jennifer and Jannette's Annual Day of Fun for 20 hours we decided that there was still fun to be had at Downtown Disney. $120 worth of fun. We decided that we both need to stay out of the Disney store. But luckily for us it's next to the Lego store where there is always cool lego sculptures out front. Disney themed of course.

January 5

Unfortunately, we don't live very close to any of our grandparents right now. Every time we are in Florida we try to meet up with our grandma who lives in Miami. This time we were able to drive down to Pembroke Pines to eat with her at Cracker Barrel. Which the old people love. While down there, we drove by the Ft. Lauderdale temple site. It's just land and gravel now... but give it a couple of years!!

January 4

Jennifer had the brilliant idea of taking graduation pictures for Jannette's graduation announcements at the beach. The beaches around we our parents live are a bit over crowded and over used. So, we headed down to the Patrick Air Force Base area. While there we got to see several Air Force planes land and take off. We couldn't decide on just one picture ... so here's a sampling:

Jorden wanted to show us one of his favorite restaurants. So we ventured out and tried sushi in Cocoa Beach at Siam Orchid. We got a boat load. Literally.

January 2

Jorden felt deprived of cold weather this winter so he requested to go to ICE! while we were home. So Jennifer, Jannette, Jorden and Katie attempted to wrap themselves in parkas to stay warm in the 9 degree weather.

January 1

Happy New Year!!! We spent New Years with Jorden, Katie and Oliver this year. It was nice to spend time with each other at home chillin'.
