February 29

Happy Leap Day!! To celebrate the extra day of the year Jannette and Jennifer went to Disney for 24 hours for One More Disney Day. To mark such an awesome day there is a picture for every hour of the extra day. Beware there's a lot of pictures.

6am- Super foggy morning but well worth being awake for! On the way in on the Disney trams, that surprisingly now have doors!

7am- One of the first rides we decided to attack was the Speedway since it isn't one we usually are able to ride on our whirlwind Annual Day of Disney - Jennifer drove - all Jannette had to say was: "thank heavens there were tracks!

8am- PhilharMagic!! Another favorite that we don't usually get a chance to see.

9am- Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride :) We got to ride with another family who controlled the up and down - we were up 99% of the ride....

10am- In the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki roommmmmmm :) We sang along to most of it!

11am- Paparazzi shot of Jannette - she was enjoying herself it seems :)

12pm- Cute shirt in the couture store!

1pm- Lunch!! We had lunch reservations at the Plaza - it had been a while since Jennifer had eaten here, and it was Jannette's first time. Both had super yummy meals with an amazing castle view!!

2pm- Dream Along with Mickey stage show, one of the best part of the show was the princesses!!

3pm- Oh, Carousel of Progress, how we love you! The sitting, the resting, the air conditioning!! What we don't love? Stupid park guests who have NO idea what they're talking about!!! We learned that in order to get on this ride (please try to note the sarcastic way in which this was written....) you have to be in a single file line - despite the fact that there is about a 8-10 foot square space before you get to the doors of the theater. Geez lady, we weren't butting in line, just getting out of the way! :-/

4pm- Flag retreat ceremony. We had NO clue there even was one in the evening!! The Disney band plays a few patriotic songs, the flag is lowered and folded, and then taken backstage by the Disney guard or a military serviceman/woman - pretty cool!!

5pm- Flag retreat continued....

6pm- We decided to tackle the magic carpets again, and got our own carpet this time :) Jannette controlled up and down, Jennifer controlled forward and back angles :)

7pm- The Magic, The Memories, and You!! Coolest castle projections ever! These projections were from Tangled - a new movie favorite of J and J because of Mr. Levi - lots of floating, lit up lanterns!! The whole thing was beautiful!!!

8pm- Jannette and Cinderella chatting it up :) We ate dinner at Cinderella's Royal table and before you go upstairs to eat there is a photo session with Cinderella. Since she is Jannette's princess, Jennifer conceded and allowed her the chance to get photographed alone! Had it been Belle, Jennifer would have expected the same!

9pm- Our wishing star from the dinner :)

10pm- After dinner posing with the castle decorations!

11pm- Do we look tired yet? At this point we had been up for ~ 20 hours and had been in the park playing for about 17!

February 28

Jennifer flew back to Florida today so she and Jannette could go to Disney tomorrow for Leap Day. It was extremely foggy when she had to leave North Carolina - this was a shot from the terminal. She ended up having to sit in the airport for several hours because her flight was delayed.

Happy Birthday Josh! We didn't have 31 candles so the birthday brownie only had 1 on it.

February 26

Oscar Sunday. Jennifer was able to attend an Oscar party where Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron made an appearance.

February 25

While in Florida Jannette decided to help out on Charlie's wedding present. Mom had to work a lot so Jannette was able to do a lot of it this time around.

February 24

While Jennifer is gone in North Carolina Jannette has to fill her time. Tonight Jannette babysat for a family in the ward so they could go to the temple. They have 2 awesome little girls and a nice house that they are still moving into. This was Jannette's favorite room.

Every year Jennifer and Jannette make blankets to send over to Africa. Mom pitched in too this year. There is a total of 7 blankets that will be sent. Here are some of them.

Jannette picked out her dress for Charlie's wedding today!

February 20

Today, Jennifer and Jannette hung out with Jorden. The day involved lunch, test driving cars, loud music and just hanging out. Jorden knows someone that works at a Nissan dealership and took Jennifer there to test drive a Nissan Rogue.

February 19

Jennifer and Jannette both think that the reason why Mom likes us coming down to Florida is that we will make yummy dinners. This was a crowd favorite. Penne Pasta with Chicken Sausage, Spinach and Beans.

February 18

After watching Dr. Oz, Jannette decided to make a belly buster chocolate cake. To top it off there were these huge strawberries from Publix.

February 17

No trip to Florida would be complete without a stop (or several stops) into Publix. It is a grocery store only located in the Southeast states and it has been sorely missed by Jannette and Jennifer while they have lived outside of Florida. Jennifer always gets a chuckle out of their packaging.

February 16

Today an Atlas 5 rocket was supposed to go up. However, after making our way down US-1 to watch it they finally scrubbed it because of high winds in the higher atmosphere. For only being an Atlas rocket it drew quite a crowd.

February 15

Today Jennifer and Jannette drove to Florida with dad. While he did most of the driving, Jannette was able to attempt to take pictures of her bridge in Jacksonville. For a person not fond of bridges it has been her favorite bridge for years! This is the best picture we were able to capture while dad was driving at 70+ miles per hour.

February 14

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
This is as decorated and excited as Jannette gets for this made up holiday. This was waiting for Jennifer when she got home from work this morning.

February 13

One more room has been totally set up in the new apartment. This time it is Jannette's bathroom. Maybe by the time the contract ends the whole apartment will be put together the way Jennifer and Jannette want it to be.

February 12

It's cold today in NC. Not nearly as cold as it could be or as cold as it was last winter in NC. But nonetheless pretty chilly. Jennifer had to go to work this morning and as she was pulling out of the apartment complex at 6:15a.m. this is what she was greeted with.

February 11

Today Jannette and Dad drove to IKEA in Charlotte to grab the last of the furniture for the new apartment while Jennifer suffered at work. The last 2 bookshelves were assembled in no time by the duo. The 2 bookshelves flank the desk in the living room and look great!!

February 10

Jennifer and Jannette are looking forward to several movies that are due to come out before summer this year. Among the array movies they can't wait to see is a movie called The Vow starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum! Of course when they found out that several theaters in the area would be showing it at 12:01a.m. on Feb 10th they jumped at the chance to see it!!! Both of them loved it - although the verdict may still be out on seeing Channing's tushy.

February 9

Today was spent putting some finishing touches on various areas of the new apartment. Dad came into town a few days ago to help with things that Jennifer and Jannette couldn't (read: shouldn't) tackle alone. Jennifer's stint with the power drill a few days ago was enough for one year. Here's what got accomplished:

 Bob Villa and Joanne working on installing a ceiling fan - yay for light and air circulation!

Jennifer finally got her JG poster and wall hanging up in her room...

the 2 extra dining room chairs were put together... (for a grand total of 6!)

the ceiling fan was rewired twice and finally started working... without electrocuting anyone.

the remote control for the ceiling fan started working too - Jennifer and Jannette now have 3 fan speeds, a light, and a dimmer function in the LR!

February 8

At one point, we were really good about going to the gym 3-5 days/ week at the old apartment. Several things have turned into excuses and reasons and our commitment has severely waned. Tonight was the first time we had been in a gym together in quite some time. Jannette tackled the treadmill for some running despite her nagging, hacky cough. And Jennifer took on the seated bike due to her continued, nagging foot injury.

The thought was: "hey, at least we went!"

February 7

Life gets pretty dull after Jennifer has to work a string of shifts - especially night shifts. Usually at some point in time the day after a night shift, she can be found sleeping. Somewhere. Today, luckily, it was in her own bed with George. Apparently 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, a meeting, and the thought of Zumba later in the day cause the following...

February 6

Jannette has been having cravings for Subway lately. Luckily, Weight Watchers allows it. A little bit of bread and meat and lots of veggies. Yummy!
