Another great dinner idea! Beef roast with sauteed mushrooms and onions, creamed spinach, and steamed carrots made the plate. It was so good!!

Tonight seemed like a very good night to watch the Olympics. The coverage started off with beach volleyball, then swimming and then gymnastics. Guys gymnastics.

July 29

Tonight, the event to watch was the Women's Gymnastics team competition - and the team, including Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas, did not disappoint! It was great to watch the Fab 5 perform SO well!

July 28

On one of Jannette's first days off she decided that she should probably clean up her room. One of the projects to draw the cleaning out however, was to put together a model of the Eiffel Tower. It does look good on the dresser though!! :)

July 27

The Olympics have officially begun!!! :) Tonight, like many other people around the world, we sat down and engrossed ourselves in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 London XXX Olympiad! We couldn't decide on just one shot - so today is a 3-for-1....

July 26

Today, Jennifer tried out another recipe she discovered on Pinterest! These are Doctor Oz's Chocolate Protein Cookies and they weren't too bad. A little on the dry side - but just enough chocolate to squash a little bit of a craving.

July 25

Jennifer went out to visit Megan and E in Walkertown. Megan had previously told Jennifer about a cupcake shop located in the neighboring city of Kernersville, NC called Cakes and All Things Yummy so they took a trip to check it out. Jennifer decided to pick up a few treats for Jannette - starting in the top right and moving clockwise you have cherry limeade, pineapple coconut, fluffernutter peanut butter, and lastly, key lime! We'll see if they're as tasty as they look.

July 24

Bar-B-Q for dinner! Jennifer and Jannette decided to try Dickey's - it wasn't too bad, especially for commercialized BBQ. However, Jannette's favorite part of the meal was the free vanilla soft serve that is free with all the meals - she decided that chocolate syrup didn't hurt either!

July 23

Jannette's officially a big kid! This is what she looked like as she left for her first day of orientation at UNC early this morning! Yay and congrats on the job, Jannette!!!

July 22

The tomato plant is doing so well on the back porch of Jennifer and Jannette's apartment. Today 2 tomatoes were ready to be pulled off. They're tiny but they look so good.

July 21

Today is Jannette's official last day of camp. In camp tradition, she was given a buddy board that all the support staff and counselors signed and Patti even gave her a good-bye gift. It was a bittersweet day.

July 20

Jannette's eye wasn't any better today so she made the trip to urgent care. Turns out it's an eyelid infection and now she's on antibiotics. It alreadys looks better than what it did yesterday.

July 19

Today at camp Jannette woke up with a swollen pain filled left eye. Thinking it just needed time to go down she took benedryl and spent most of the day in bed.

July 18

The HHR is still in North Carolina while Jennifer's little white car is in Florida. Today the HHR had a birthday!! Happy Birthday Howard!!

July 17

Today Jannette went to have her drug screening test done finally. She drove up to Asheville to do it before the campers arrived for camp.

July 16

Jannette headed back out to camp for the last time today. A quick stop through High Point was needed. Oh boy was lunch good!

July 15

This is dinner from tonight. Jennifer and Jannette wanted to try out 2 new things. So it's chicken breasts with a chili-lime rub and twice baked butternut squash and a then a proven staple: stuffed jalapenos!!

July 14

Today is the last day of session 3 of camp at Kanuga. It's always is such a mix of emotions for everybody - including the staff. This is Jannette and her favorite camper on the last morning of camp.

July 13

Today is closing ceremonies at camp. During the ceremonies, all the campers get awards from their counselor. Even though she isn't a counselor, Jannette has a favorite camper - partly because she is in the infirmary so often and partly because she is so funny. Today Jannette took some time to be crafty and make some awards for this camper.

July 12

There are days at camp where Jannette is just counting down the days until she gets to leave. Today was definitely one of them. Only 2 more days until Jannette goes home for the weekend and only 1 more week left of camp nursing.

July 11

There seems to be some kind of bug going around camp lately. This is just a section of the notebook where Jannette records when kids come in to get checked out by the nurses.

July 10

Today at camp it rained off and on, mostly on, all day. Power was even lost for a couple of hours. Once power came back on and the sun came out the office looked like it was on fire. There was steam coming off of it. It looked pretty cool.

July 9

Today before Jennifer left to head back to Cary, but first Jannette showed her all around the camp. It was great having her out to visit even if it was only for a couple of days.

July 8

1) Tonight Jannette was on-call.

2) One day people will learn how to properly spell Jannette's name.

July 7

The boys are back together again! As well as the sisters. Jennifer came out to visit Jannette at camp. I think that Jennifer was most excited about seeing her amazing roommate/ sister again!!!

July 6

One of the counselors was nice enough to braid Jannette's hair today. It turned out very nicely and the counselor will most likely get another visit.

July 5

Today Jannette's job at camp was to fill up baby bottles to take down to the water front. This is not a solution that you want to drink- it's vinegar and rubbing alcohol.

Happy Independence Day!!!!
Today at the Kanuga Conference Center they put on a firework show. It wasn't spectacular but it was pretty fun!

July 3

Today has been sooooo hot out in Hendersonville. Jannette is enjoying her time at camp however, she realizes that she loves the fact that technology has progressed enough to have air conditioning and thinks that camp should have it too!!

Today Jannette got a postcard in the mail today from Cinderella. It made the day very magical.
