Looking at floorplans is exhausting. Moving apartments this year.

February 9

Today was spent putting some finishing touches on various areas of the new apartment. Dad came into town a few days ago to help with things that Jennifer and Jannette couldn't (read: shouldn't) tackle alone. Jennifer's stint with the power drill a few days ago was enough for one year. Here's what got accomplished:

 Bob Villa and Joanne working on installing a ceiling fan - yay for light and air circulation!

Jennifer finally got her JG poster and wall hanging up in her room...

the 2 extra dining room chairs were put together... (for a grand total of 6!)

the ceiling fan was rewired twice and finally started working... without electrocuting anyone.

the remote control for the ceiling fan started working too - Jennifer and Jannette now have 3 fan speeds, a light, and a dimmer function in the LR!

January 22

Today the contract in our old place officially ended. At this apartment we had valet trash service almost every night. Occasionally, we would take our own trash up to the dumpster at the front of the complex. We would do this, usually, by Jannette holding her arm and hand out of the passenger window of the unlucky car and holding the bag of garbage. During one of our final runs of taking stuff to the new apartment in Cary we decided that we would take trash up to the dumpster. Luckily, there was an old suitcase that Jennifer wanted to throw away. It turned into a very good "sidecar" for the trash delivery. Following behind, Jannette was in stitches the whole time. Luckily there wasn't an accident involving the two cars as Jannette couldn't see through the tears rolling down her cheeks.

January 20

Today the movers came to move all of our big furniture. Thankfully. We can do little boxes, but there is absolutely no way that either Jennifer or Jannette could have moved our washer, dryer, couch and other various things.

January 19

Jennifer has had the privilege of working 6 shifts out of the last 7 nights while trying to pack the apartment up to move to Cary. Needless to say, she desperately needs a nap. But updating the blog is more entertaining at the moment.

January 17

Don't let all our fun these past few days fool you. We are still in the process of moving our things over to the Cary apartment. We are trying to fill our 2 cars up full for each load over. Even if it means taking a load over at 4 am.

January 12

The Durham apartment exodus continues. We've finally gotten enough out to start cleaning drawers and cabinets. Fun fun.

January 11

Our new home!! Today we signed the lease on our apartment in Cary. We're finally getting out of Durham! Let the packing commence.
