The canvas is finally done. It's not as pretty as Jannette had hoped but for a first attempt it turned out pretty well. After putting up the canvas Jannette noticed that there were themes to her walls.

April 14

Project make-your-own-canvas has continued. Today the print was laid out on top of the canvas board to straighten out. It's going to look great over Jannette's bed.

March 25

Decorating the apartment continues, slowly but surely. This time the decorating was concentrated in Jennifer's room putting up pictures. These are pictures that Jennifer has taken, one for each season. Winter- Utah 2008, Spring- Washington 2006, Summer- California 2010 and Fall- North Carolina 2011. What can we say, we like to travel and we like taking photos. - it seemed like a great combo!!

March 9

Jennifer worked the last 2 nights and decided to go by the grocery store on the way home because for dinner the girls are making chicken. Here's a shot from what she bought, any ideas why getting carded at 9am was interesting?!?

The decorating of the apartment continues as Jannette and Jennifer find things they like. Here's what now adorns the wall above Jennifer's toilet!

February 13

One more room has been totally set up in the new apartment. This time it is Jannette's bathroom. Maybe by the time the contract ends the whole apartment will be put together the way Jennifer and Jannette want it to be.

February 11

Today Jannette and Dad drove to IKEA in Charlotte to grab the last of the furniture for the new apartment while Jennifer suffered at work. The last 2 bookshelves were assembled in no time by the duo. The 2 bookshelves flank the desk in the living room and look great!!

February 9

Today was spent putting some finishing touches on various areas of the new apartment. Dad came into town a few days ago to help with things that Jennifer and Jannette couldn't (read: shouldn't) tackle alone. Jennifer's stint with the power drill a few days ago was enough for one year. Here's what got accomplished:

 Bob Villa and Joanne working on installing a ceiling fan - yay for light and air circulation!

Jennifer finally got her JG poster and wall hanging up in her room...

the 2 extra dining room chairs were put together... (for a grand total of 6!)

the ceiling fan was rewired twice and finally started working... without electrocuting anyone.

the remote control for the ceiling fan started working too - Jennifer and Jannette now have 3 fan speeds, a light, and a dimmer function in the LR!
