Plants on our porch have been purchased (for the most part- still missing cilantro) and planted. Fingers crossed for them to actually grow.

Getting to use fresh herbs as an ingredient for dinner makes the girls very happy. So good!

What to do with all that basil that Jannette picked yesterday? Make pesto. Attempt #1. Will be improved as the basil plant continues to grow.

Our tomato and basil plants are doing quite well this time around. To help in the pruning of the basil plant Jannette plucked off most of the leaves. What to do with so much basil?!

Here goes our real attempt at gardening! We tried once in April, but it was too early in the season and things got cold and died. We've got basil and a tomato as starter plants - plus seeds growing basil, cilantro, parsley, tomatoes and watermelon. :) While we were in VA this weekend, things started to sprout - super exciting!
